Branding
A selection of logos and branding work created for Realm, Vanderbilt University Press, and PM Press.
Realm
Local furniture and accessory maker, Realm, reached out to develop a logo and brand system to suit their elegant yet abberant objects d’art.
With a few adaptations to the typeface Crake, the result was a high-contrast type mark that communicates their other-worldly ethos.
In addition to their logo, I also collaborate with them on their short-form video content and photography for web and social media.
During my time as designer for Vanderbilt University Press, I had the chance to create the press’s first dedicated logo and brand system.
The interlocking arches reflect the architectural details found on the clock tower on the main campus, which used to function as a colophon on the spines and title pages of their early 20th century books.
It was a great privilege to collaborate with the school and the staff on this project and engage with the heritage of such a storied Nashville institution.

The Kelman Library
I had the opportunity to work with PM Press on a logo design for a series of books by Scottish author and thinker James Kelman. His writings concern Scottish history and nationalism, creativity, as well as contain biographical anecdotes of his career as a figurehead in his intellectual community.
The treatment is a minimalist design that hints at some of his Anarcho-syndacalist themes, pairing simple shapes and a refined sans serif font with a simple blue gradient.
